Stuff South Africa

In the December 2017 issue of Stuff Magazine

The December 2017 issue of Stuff Magazine is here and it’s one of the big ones. Literally. You’ll notice that this issue of Stuff is noticeably thicker than it usually is — this is because the December 2017 Stuff Magazine is home to both our annual Wish List as well as the mighty, mighty Gadget Awards 2017.

That’s right folks, we’re already at the time of the year when Stuff hands out awards to the very best products in tech today with our annual Gadget Awards and we should point out that it wasn’t easy. Not in the freaking slightest, particularly in the smartphone category. Every time we saw a new phone in 2017 we were convinced that we’d seen the device to supplant all others. Until, that is, one in particular caught our eyes…

It’s not all awards, though we certainly have a load of award-winning tech everywhere else in this issue. Take the GoPro Hero6 Black, for example, which we’ve taken a closer look at. The best 4K action camera we’ve ever seen? That judgement may have to wait a month or so while we put it through its paces but it sure is looking like it so far. Get a first look in our Vital Stats overview.

Spend some time looking up this December with Stuff‘s selection of stargazing apps. Whether you’re trying to identify a promising bright spot, hunting down an elusive faint fuzzy, or are keen on dabbling in some cellphone astrophotography, we’ve got the apps you’ll need to know what it is you’re staring at.

Got a smartwatch? Want one? We’re not giving any away (this month) but we’ve got a rundown of Fitbit’s Ionic, the company’s first crack at a proper smartwatch. The Fitbit Blaze, as much as we like it, doesn’t count. And if Fitbit’s newest isn’t moving the must-have needle for you, we’ve also examined three of its closest competitors. And there’s always our Wearables Top 5 if you have all the money in the world to spend…

What else do you need? A full-on test of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus? Got that. The LG V30+? We’ve got that too. How about a Mazda convertible and a pair of SUVs? We’ve included them as well, and how to get the better of iOS 11, and a bunch of festive season-worthy console games, a spot of VR, and a whole lot more besides. All of it is tucked neatly between the pages of the December issue of Stuff Magazine. Go get yours today.
