Vine bans ” explicit sexual content” on their looping-video service

Short looping video service Vine has made a change to their terms of service, according to a blog post from the company, which has banned “explicit sexual content” from the list of things that users will be allowed to post in video form.

The company said “For more than 99 percent of our users, this doesn’t really change anything. For the rest: we don’t have a problem with explicit sexual content on the Internet –– we just prefer not to be the source of it.”

Explicit content has been barred from the service and users have been asked to report anything that violates the new terms of service via a report button on posts. Violators will have their accounts suspended until the offending content is removed while repeat offenders may see their accounts permanently locked down.

However, they’re not banning everything. Some nudity has been okayed for Vine videos, in cases where it is considered documentary or artistic footage, as well as when nudity is not sexually suggestive.
