This is LG’s G3 smartphone, with more to come

LG has made their G3 officially official, as opposed to the recent leak that detailed a little too much about the smartphone. As it turns out, the LG Netherlands gun-jumping was on the money, as were the images that were briefly published.

At LG’s London event last night things got a little more specific, even if they only confirmed much that we already know. The G3 will indeed be a 5.5-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 screened slab of plastic. That’s right, there’s no metal to be found in the body of the phone. Just the impression of metal on the outer shell.

Hardware isn’t as hectic as we were initially led to believe, with a Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage being the standard. Word is that LG has a boosted version of the G3 in the works for some, as yet unspecified markets, which will feature 3GB of system memory and 32GB of storage but we don’t know when it will appear or who is getting it.

Other features? A 13MP laser autofocus camera that promises some improvements over the G2 and yes, there will be dual LED flashes. The 3,000mAh battery will be removable this time around, with the same sort of stamina as seen in the G2. Android 4.4 KitKat and a tweaked user interface round out the features. The G3 seems, on paper at least, to be an improvement over the G2 by a decent margin but if we can get our hands on the heftier version of the G3 instead, we’d be very happy bunnies indeed.

  1. there goes LG setting the standards again that new display is out of this world, now what all the others follow, we might even see a similar pixel display on the note 4, S5 prime, “nexus 6” AND iPhone 6 although apple may twist the name as usual.

LG is pretty bad ass in the tech industry than people actually realize and it is sad that they don’t always get the shine they deserve.
FACT the G2 was the beast of its time a year ago and now The G3 continues the tradition. What e like about LG is that they always make the tech first. and their products are always straight to the point so big ups to the G3 for continuing to set the bar in mobile technology
