Samsung, fresh from having the shackles removed from the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the States, has amended their ongoing lawsuit against Apple and added the iPhone 5 to the list of devices it says are infringing on patents.
Strangely, the LTE patents that Samsung was expected to name as being infringed upon were not mentioned in the amendment. The patents involved in Samsung’s tacking-on of the iPhone 5 to the lawsuit include six utility patents and two standard essential patents which are unrelated to the company’s LTE properties.
Samsung waited to include the iPhone 5, saying that the device would be examined to determine whether it infringes on the same patents as other accused handsets. The iPhone 4, 4 S and iPad 2 are also named in the suit, which was filed in April this year.
