It’s not exactly unexpected but Motorola has confirmed the leaked Moto E smartphone today at an event in London. The vast majority of the new low-end phone, which is the first to arrive since Lenovo bought the company up, were detailed by the earlier Brazilian leak but we’ve now got a much clearer view of what will be inside the Moto E.
The Moto E is going to be featuring the Snapdragon 200 processor, a 1.2GHz dual core chip, and 1GB of system memory with 4GB of storage. So far, nothing new aside from the processor model. The display is set to be a 4.3-inch, 960 x 540 Gorilla Glass 3 panel and the microSD support, battery, camera and dual-SIM capability are as was previously reported.
Motorola will be launching the handset (in the UK at first) with body customisation options in the form of interchangeable rear panels and the handset will arrive with Android 4.4 KitKat installed. The price for the UK is set at £89, which works out to around R1,550 in local money.
