Google has made the Nexus Q official at Google I/O 2012. The Nexus Q is a spherical device that will work with the Nexus 7 tablet or another Android product in order to stream cloud-based media.
The Nexus Q will feature the same processor that powers the Nexus 7 tablet, the OMAP 4460, 16GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. Dual-band WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and NFC capabilities will all be built into the media streaming device.
It is expected to go on sale midway though July this year in the US, retailing for $299. Google also intends to offer a set of Triad speakers for sale with the unit which will cost $399.
