These are the final specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 — three weeks early

First it was the image leak and now it’s final specifications for the Galaxy Note 8 that have been laid bare — several weeks before Samsung is set to make them official. That steamroller really is gathering momentum.

What looks to be the final Galaxy Note 8 info comes by way of leaker Evan Blass, who seems to have a telepathic link with people involved in creating smartphones. Citing a person “…briefed on the device’s final configuration”, Blass has given the specs for the Note 8 as follows:

Samsung will be packing the Galaxy Note 8 with a Snapdragon 835 for the US, and an Exynos 8895 for the rest of the world. RAM will clock in at 6GB and the handset will have 64GB of storage, with the option to expand it further. The Note 8’s display will be a 6.3in Super AMOLED screen, modelled around the current Infinity Display Samsung is so fond of.

The camera arrangement will include dual 12MP rear cams. One will feature a wide-angle lens (f1.7) while the other (f2.4) will enable 2x optical zoom, both lenses will feature optical image stabilisation. There will be an 8MP front-facing cam but we suspect you’ll be more fond of the rear camera this time around. Except… Samsung will be sticking that fingerprint sensor next to the lenses — though, to be fair, it seem they’ll use the flash as a buffer between your digits and the aperture.

Lastly, the handset will include a quick-charge 3,300mAh battery with wireless and USB-C capability and will launch first in Midnight Black and Maple Gold (the colours leaked previously) before Orchid Grey and Deep Blue Sea colour options become available. And, as expected, it’s going to be bloody expensive.

Now we just need to see the official unveiling. Over to you, Samsung.
