South African cellular service provider Cell C has announced that they will be bringing BlackBerry 10 devices to the country in “early 2013 following the global launch announcement on 30 January 2013.”
Cell C’s announcement doesn’t give any clues as to what the available handsets will be like on the hardware front, touting instead the features of the revamped BlackBerry 10 operating system. Some features have been previewed by RIM already, like BlackBerry Flow and BlackBerry Hub, but improved app support and a better browser are also on the list of selling points.
The Time-Shift camera is sounding particularly interesting, especially for the fumble-finger photographers among us. When an image is taken the device will “…able to pick out faces and let the user scrub forwards and backwards in time by a few frames on either side of the photo. This feature is useful to capture more accurately a smile, remove blinking and more.”
