SpaceX, the space transport company founded by PayPal entrepreneur and Tesla Motors CEO Elon. Musk has just released the first test footage of their Falcon 9 Reusable rocket. And, like other tests, the footage was captured by our current favourite tech, drones.
A hexacopter drone was used to capture a 360-degree aerial view of the launch, showing the rocket lifting off and reaching a height of 250 metres and returning to earth. Note that this rocket isn’t the same as the Grasshopper that SpaceX has been testing previously but this is a version of the company’s spacefaring tech performing a VTOL landing.
But enough talk, do yourself a favour and watch the video. It’s not has high as the Grasshopper has achieved but it’s also a much larger rocket. We’re expecting some big improvements in later tests.
