Ahead of its proper debut at Mobile World Congress in a couple weeks, LG has announced the Watch Urbane, an Android Wear smartwatch with an all-metal body that looks like a luxury-minded take on the G Watch R. Even LG admits that the Urbane uses the company’s previous wearable as its base, and it keeps the 1.3in circular Plastic OLED display and same technical specifications. However, while the G Watch R had a sporty demeanour, the Watch Urbane is aimed at those looking for a higher-end timepiece. The stainless steel body is available in gold and silver models with a stitched…

Recently we heard that Apple has been snapping up automotive talent to push into creation of an electric car, or something around EV development. Many more details have since emerged, although the sources can’t agree on everything. Late on Friday, the Wall Street Journal issued a report stating that Apple has several hundred people working on a project called “Titan,” which is an electric vehicle “that resembles a minivan,” says a source. While any release would be years out still, due to the complexity of the project and plenty of safety certifications and other red tape, it appears that Apple has…

Hope you’ve got plenty of space available on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, because the glossier, higher-end apps and games on the App Store are about to get even larger than they are already. That’s because Apple has doubled the file size limit for iOS apps, now allowing downloads as large as 4GB in size. Four gigabytes! That’s a serious amount of data, especially for something you may be enjoying on a few-inch display. Of course, not all apps and games will suddenly have massive footprints because of the cap increase. In fact, many app makers trim their file…

Elon Musk has revealed that Tesla is working on a consumer battery pack for the home. Tesla’s battery design is something of a legend, allowing its 100 percent electric cars to travel hundreds of miles at high speeds – so the idea of it being used to power home appliances is an exciting one. Musk mentioned the home battery during a Tesla Motors earnings call, saying its design was finished and that production could begin in six months. He didn’t reveal specific details about the device, but The Verge speculates that it could be used as, essentially, a backup generator…

From 2nd March, the Spanish city of Barcelona will, for a few days, be known for more than having a fierce spirit of independence, a fantastic (if currently underperforming) football team, lots of beautiful Gaudi architecture, and a major petty crime problem. It will be known as the place where lots of new mobile phones, tablets and wearables are being announced. Yes, folks: it’s almost time for Mobile World Congress 2015 (or MWC 2015, as we’ll refer to it from here on because we want to save bandwidth costs), the biggest smartphone-centric technology expo around. Most of the big players…

Another day, another Galaxy S6 rumour. This one comes courtesy of Bloomberg, whose sources have stated that there will be two versions of Samsung’s new flagship phone, confirming past reports of a standard S6 and an S6 Edge. The latter is thought to have a curved screen, Note-Edge style, but this latest report describes the device as having a three-sided display which wraps around both edges of the device. The extra screen real estate can be used to display notifications as well as housing on-screen camera and video controls, freeing up more room on the main screen itself. Both Galaxy…

If the eagerly anticipated HTC One M9 looks anything like the above render, then our hands will be very happy come launch day. Numerous leaks have pointed to an all-metal design that, while similar to the existing M8, has a few notable changes. The front-facing speakers are now resting beneath cutouts, Nexus 9-style, while a large central front-facing camera (expected…

Among all the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 rumours floating around, Sony has powered on through and revealed its latest mid-range handset, the Xperia E4. Its spec sheet however, won’t have hardcore Android users rushing to the store. Its 5in qHD 960 x 540 screen with a pretty paltry 220ppi won’t massage your retinas the same way a full HD or 2K flagship screen will, and1.3GHz quad-core insides, 1GB RAM and 5MP camera won’t stir up butterflies in spec fiends either. What it does offer though, is a 2,300mAh battery, and two days of normal use, which is…
