We’re not going to lie, we’ve been waiting for this day ever since we finished South Park: The Stick of Truth. The Stick of Truth was a fantastic game but there was one thing missing: More of it. And more is what we shall have, as Ubisoft and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have announced that the sequel, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, is heading to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3leyMRWulw This time around, players will be sticking with their role as The New Kid and, by the look of things, the Stick of…

It’s about bloody time! One of our only complaints about the PlayStation 4 was that it couldn’t hold a candle to the PlayStation 3 in terms of media playback. That’s all changed. Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4 is getting its very own media player, via an update that should already have downloaded to your console if you’re the type to leave it turned on and connected to the internet. In terms of actual capabilities, Sony have announced that the PS4 will be able to play video, MP3 and image slideshows – very like the PS3, then. But then…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgakdcEzVwg We’ve been impressed with what we’ve seen from Microsoft’s Hololens but there’s more to it than making your home a more digitally interactive place to be. You can also play games with it. Case in point: Microsoft’s Minecraft and Hololens demo from this year’s E3 conference in Los Angeles. It’s perfectly possible to use the Hololens to project a standard game of Minecraft onto a wall but the real fun comes in when it’s projected onto a table. Then players have a god’s-eye view of the game, including other players who might be in the world. Then, players can…

Some relatively sad news – The Bloodhound SSC, which was due to arrive in South Africa towards the end of the year in an attempt to break the world land-speed record, has been delayed. Blast, and we were looking forward to that. It’s been rescheduled for some time in 2016, based on a test of the vehicle that will take place on 17 November this year in the UK. Bloodhound will be prepping for their 1600km/h land-speed run by visiting the Newquay Aerohub in Cornwall for a 320km/h test. The reason given for the delay is that the fuel pump, specifically…

If gaming has a white whale, then its name is The Last Guardian. The third in a series that counts PlayStation 2 games Ico and Shadow of the Colossus as its first two, The Last Guardian has been sighted and lost enough times to frustrate even Captain Ahab. And this is just the latest tease. The upcoming story of a boy and his dog… er… dog-like, feathered bird-thing got another look-in at E3 with a six-minute gameplay video. And a fairly vague release date of 2016. But we’ve seen that before. The Last Guardian is set to appear on the PlayStation…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NteAPGprDJk We really hope you haven’t clicked on the video link first. Bethesda have revealed some gameplay for the upcoming Doom reboot, which is due to launch in 2016, and the results are… brutal. Really, really brutal. As in flying chunks of monster and limbs flying everywhere. Still interested? Good. The violence is in keeping with the Doom series, but there’s more going on than just a damage model. There are some nasty takedowns, like splitting a demon in two using a chainsaw or that over-the-rail headstomp kill that we dearly hope forms part of Doom’s multiplayer. There’s also an…

What would happen if you crossed a Lumia smartphone with a wearable smartband? You don’t need to wonder, as Nokia was apparently working on something of the sort before Microsoft opted for the Microsoft Band instead. This… is Moonraker. Also the title of a Bond film starring not-James-Bond (i.e, anyone but Sean Connery), Nokia’s Moonraker was a prototype smartwatch that should have been released some time ago. Except, as you might have guessed, it’s never going to be. The Verge reports that the Moonraker (we’re not sure if that was to be an official title or just a working codename) was to…

So you’re out in your fields, harvesting crops and ploughing or looking after animals. The problem is that it isn’t real enough for you. That might be because you’re playing Farming Simulator, a surprisingly popular game that revolves around owning and operating a farm. But, as we said, maybe driving your virtual tractor isn’t real enough. That’s where Saitek, a division of peripheral maker Mad Catz, comes in. They’ve got a Farming Simulator peripheral on the way, available for pre-order now, that simulates the steering wheel, pedals and side panel of a piece of very expensive farming equipment. Just in…

SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk doesn’t muck around. Recently he unveiled the Powerwall, a new addition to Tesla’s roster of battery-powered products, but a little while back he also outlined plans for a new transportation system called the Hyperloop. And, here’s the thing, it’s actually getting built. Or at least, a part of it is. There’s a test track for the high-speed transit system being built in California in 2016. Musk isn’t actually involved in the initiative, that’s the domain of a company called Hyperloop Transport Technologies (HTT), who are arranging that the 8km test track goes into construction next year.…

If BlackBerry makes an Android phone, is it a BlackBerry or is it an Android? That’s the sort of question we might have to answer soon, as reports claim that the Canadian smartphone outfit is considering outfitting an upcoming device with the Android OS. Reuters, citing sources that asked not to be named, reports that such a decision would be calculated to help BlackBerry focus on other matters – specifically software and device management. Odds are that BlackBerry’s enterprise software would still make its way to such an Android device – they’re not out to wholly promote Google’s OS, after…
