Apple’s iPad mini with Retina display priced, landing in SA tomorrow

South African distributor of Apple products Core Group have just announced the pricing and release date for Apple’s iPad mini with Retina display for this country. The launch date is just around the corner, the devices should be available from tomorrow, 18 December. It may be cutting it a little close for Christmas shopping and hopefully your budget will stretch to fit – the pricing for the 7-inch tablet starts at R5,000.

The varieties of iPad mini with Retina display will be limited at launch to boot, though pricing has been given for all variants. The base 16GB WiFi-only Retina-sporting iPad mini will have a recommended price of R5,000. Other devices that will be available from tomorrow are the WiFi+Cellular 16GB mini with Retina (R6,600), 32GB WiFi+Cellular (R7,900 – Space Grey only at launch) and the 64GB WiFi only version (R7,500).

Missing in action but on their way are the 32GB WiFi-only tablet (R6,300), 64GB WiFi+Cellular (R9,000) and both 128GB models (R8,900 – WiFi only, R10,500 – WiFi+Cellular). There’s no availability date for the missing tablets at this time.

Stuff South Africa's editor. He's not too sure about this whole 'referring to himself in the third person' thing but hey, all the cool kids are doing it. Brett likes words. Like, more than a friend.
