When the app launched for Android it was seeing, according to Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, somewhere in the region of 2000 new sign-ups a minute.

The company released a slew of other figures for the launch of Instagram on Android. Over 430,000 people were signed on up on the app’s Android waiting list while Instagram now boasts more than 30 million users. More than a billion images have been uploaded, at a rate of over 5 million photos per day.
