Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare isn’t doing quite as well on the sales floor as previous outings of the high-end shooter series have managed. That’s something supported by sales numbers and it might be the reason why Activision has announced a five-day trial of their latest shooter just before the festive season kicks off in earnest.
We’re used to free weekends, where players can dip their toes into a game’s multiplayer, but Activision are offering potential gamers five days with Infinite Warfare. That’s… a slightly higher number and the move is coming a bare month and a half after the game’s on-sale date, which is unprecedented for the series. Players are not just looking at some time with the multiplayer, either.
Players will have access to the single-player campaign (the first two chapters), the whole of multiplayer (with a level cap of 15), as well as the Zombies in Spaceland mode (capped at level 3) during the free period. Activision is also sweetening the deal by offering those who purchase the game afterwards the chance to keep their progress. You know, just in case the trial period makes you open your wallet (or demand a loved one opens theirs).
If you’re still sitting on the fence (and sales numbers, at least at retail, suggest that more than a few of you are) then you can play the trial mode from 15 to 20 December. The PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One are all getting in on the trial so you should be able to participate no matter the platform.
