You guys all know Ratchet and Clank, right? Beloved PlayStation characters with a penchant for goofy weapons, platform gaming and roaming around whacking things with wrenches? Well, a ratchet. No? Started off on the PlayStation 2 before venturing onto the PS3? Still nothing? You should probably correct that – The Ratchet and Clank games were some of the best titles to come from Insomniac Games.
Never mind that now though. Ratchet and Clank are heading to the big screen in April 2016 and this looks like a rare instance of a video game movie that will prove as entertaining as the game it was based on. At least, that’s what the trailer is telling us. The same characters, looking as good (if not better) as they do in cut-scenes, similar storylines and extremely odd weaponry (like the sheep gun) are on show. This looks to be everyone’s origin story, in time for the game franchise’s first appearance on the PlayStation 4 next year.
Seriously, you don’t know the game series? Made by Insomniac, the studio behind Resistance, Spyro the Dragon, and Sunset Overdrive? Really?
