LG may be going a bit far with their smartwatches, if a new report from South Korea is on the money. The LG G Watch R has only been on the market for a few months, isn’t available through official channels in SA (yet) and there’s already talk of a 4G-sporting successor to their Android Wear wearable.
Business Korea claims that LG will have the 4G wearable, which may or may not be called the G Watch R2, making an appearance at next year’s Mobile World Congress, which means that we might be seeing it as soon as March 2015. Whether it’ll go on sale soon after is another story.
Though the report cites ‘industry sources’ there’s little other info on the apparent smartwatch update from LG. There are no other specs, aside from 4G support, but we could see this device from LG going head-to-head with Apple’s Watch and whatever Samsung decides to drop on us at about the same time.
