Okay so we don’t officially have Netflix in South Africa but DStv is making some moves in the same direction as the iconic American streaming service. DStv have just announced that Season 2 of House of Cards will become available on their Catch Up service before it officially airs on DStv proper.
The first season of House of Cards will become available on Catch Up from 30 May and will remain accessible for DStv Premium viewers until 26 June. Season 2 will also show up on the service from 13 June until 26 June. The series will begin broadcasting on DStv on 27 June so binge-watchers can get ahead of the game before that.
MultiChoice SA COO Mark Raynor said in a media statement “Previously, if you missed a show that everyone is suddenly talking about, the only way you will be able to get in on the hype is to wait for the DVD box set to come out.”
“What we’re doing with House of Cards is different because every episode of season 1 and 2 will be delivered as complete box sets. Our Premium customers can get ready to binge on some of the best entertainment available today.”
