Stuff Magazine‘s Editor and publisher Toby Shapshak is over in Austin, Texas, at the moment for South by South West (SXSW). Exactly what he is getting up to we only usually find out overnight because of the time zone differences but someone from the Huffington Post managed to get him to slow down enough to be captured on film, talking about the ways that the African continent is using mobile technology to innovate.
In the video, Toby points out how the M-Pesa payment system is utilising basic SMS technology to transfer money between people and he highlights other inventions that have also been born out of necessity on the African continent. And, from there, those inventions have started to spread around the world.
