Windows 8 is well-known for its Vista-like appeal with its unfortunate users, and pretty much everybody else. One of the more obvious peeves of the operating system is the Start screen, which is a constant bother for users.
Reportedly this feature, and a couple of others to boot, are about to change. According to known leaker WZor, the latest Windows 8.1 test build is skipping the tiled welcome screen, and is also moving the shutdown button from its current hiding place to somewhere a little more accessible. UI apps also being made easier to minimise.
It’s still not perfection by a long shot, but we’re deciding to focus on the positive.
