Nokia has a new promotional video on their hands, thanks to New York filmmaker Paul Trillo and the Lumia 1020 smartphone. The short film, the result of 41 images being shot on New York’s Manhattan Street over the course of a day and an obvious reference to the Lumia 1020’s 41 megapixel camera, has a definite effect on the viewer’s eyes as the video zooms through the images.
Trillo, speaking with WP Central, explained how the short film was created, saying “The effect is essentially an image within an image, repeated 41 times. So basically once one photo of a city block magnifies, the following block fills the frame. The scaling or zooming effect has quite a different feeling than if you were actually traveling in a car down the street. Being able to continually zoom is something the brain is not used to seeing so it definitely plays with your perception.”
