Electronic Arts isn’t messing around when it comes to the Battlefield franchise. The open beta test for the popular first person shooter will be starting for big three current generation platforms (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) on 1 October, prior to the game’s 29 October launch date.
The Open Beta confirmation comes via EA CEO Peter Moore, who announced the dates in a blog post, calling the titles in question the “…pinnacle of this console generation”.
Polygon reports that those who pre-ordered Battlefield 4’s Digital Deluxe Edition on PC or who pre-ordered last year’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter, would automatically be granted early access to the beta. It appears that gamers who got their pre-orders in will be getting a little time alone with the open beta, while the game will unlock for everyone else at a slightly later stage.
