New Killer is Dead trailer is definitely about… something

Video gaming’s Suda 51 (Shadows of the Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer7, No More Heroes) has never been a conventional sort of person but the newest title to release from his studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, is turning the weirdness up a notch based on the latest trailer for the game.

If you don’t speak any Japanese then the dialogue is going to be a mystery but the visuals comprise mostly cutscene footage with brief snippets of slash-em-up gameplay in between. The general oddities on display are notable in that they’re a little stranger than usual, even for something that Suda has worked on. Unicorns, a walk on the moon, a surreal eat-eating scene and a lot of violence are all on show, making us sure that we’d like to see what cybernetically-enhanced protagonist Mondo Zappa gets up to when the game releases towards the end of August this year.
