Facebook has released their second quarter figures for 2013, announcing revenue of $1.81 billion – $1.6 billion of which stemmed from advertising. This represents a 53% increase on Q2 2012, a period which saw the company posting revenues of $1.18 billion.
Net income for Q2 2013 was $333 million, compared to a net loss of $157 million in Q2 2012.
The social network also released figures concerning Facebook, which now boasts an average of 699 million DAUs (daily active users). Monthly active users clock in at 1.15 billion at the end of June this year, an uptick of 21% compared to last year. By the same time, mobile monthly and daily active users stood at 819 million and 469 million people respectively.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement “We’ve made good progress growing our community, deepening engagement and delivering strong financial results, especially on mobile.”
