Apple has confirmed that their iOS Developer Center, which has been down for the last few days, is currently the subject of a security investigation.
Originally an email was sent out informing users that a breach in the company’s Dev Center was detected late last week and that Apple took the site down in response to that intrusion. The mail informed developers of the possibility of user information being compromised.
According to Apple only developer accounts were involved in the breach, no iTunes data has been compromised at all. Credit card information is still secure but Tech Crunch reports that some developers are receiving unasked-for password reset requests, suggesting that login data has been taken.
There is presently no time frame for when Apple’s Developer Center will be returning.
