Open source media player VLC has come back to the iOS platform after being missing from the App Store for almost three years.
The VLC media player hasn’t appeared on local iTunes stores just yet but it is reportedly live on the Australian and New Zealand App Stores. When it becomes available, users will find that VLC, in addition to supporting just about any type of media file, also supports third-party app access, Dropbox and WiFi syncing and will feature visual filters to boot.
VLC disappeared from the iOS store in 2011 following a dispute over how Apple licensed the open source software.
