Windows 8.1 – Microsoft fixes the madness

The preview version of Windows 8.1 was launched on the 26th of June during the Microsoft’s Build conference in San Francisco, and it definitely shows that Microsoft has been listening to its critics, improving the OS for desktop and touch tablet users.

The new OS brings welcome changes to the user interface, but it also improves the SkyDrive cloud syncing, built-in search and a revamped Windows app store.

New features that PC users will love are the revival of the start button and Windows 8 should now boot directly to the desktop, which resembles the Windows 7 interface.

The best news of all is that the update is free and available through the Windows Store on the Windows 8 Start Screen.
