Company of Heroes 2, the follow-up to the highest-rated strategy game to grace the PC, is due to launch later this month on 25 June and, coming off the closed beta period, SEGA have announced an open beta that will allow fans and prospective buyers to take a crack at the World War II strategy title.
The game’s producer, Greg Wilson, said in a statement “We have been working hard since the closed beta balancing and improving all areas of the game as well as adding new matchmaking servers. [Company of Heroes 2] has had one of the most successful beta programs we’ve ever run at Relic and the support of the fans has been a critical factor in making the game more balanced and stable for launch.”
Company of Heroes 2’s open beta is accessible through digital distribution platform Steam and will give players a shot at the game’s popular multiplayer modes across six maps. Players will be able to progress up to level 45 and any progress made within the open beta will carry over into the full game, provided players purchase and play Company of Heroes 2 on the same Steam account that they played the beta on within 60 days of the game’s launch. The beta will be available until 18 June.
