BlackBerry has announced and will be bringing a new BlackBerry 10 handset, the BlackBerry Q5, to selected markets. South Africa is included on that list which takes in areas in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Marketed as a “youthful and fun” device, the Q5 will be combining BlackBerry’s iconic QWERTY keypad with a 3.1-inch touchscreen. The smartphone will come with BlackBerry’s TimeShift photo feature, Story Make to turn images, audio and video into a short film, BBM Video, BlackBerry Hub and, obviously, access to the BlackBerry World app store.
BlackBerry CEO Thorston Heins said in a statement “The BlackBerry Q5 gives you the best of everything with its cutting-edge BlackBerry 10 functionality and a physical QWERTY keyboard. It is for youthful fans that are passionate, confident and bold, and it makes it easy for them to have fun, create, share and stay connected.”
The BlackBerry Q5 has yet to be priced but it should roll out in July this year.
