Cape Town financial services start-up 22seven now has an iPhone app. Recently bought by Old Mutual, the folks at 22seven have wasted no time in getting their money management solution onto Apple’s iTunes.
The free app clocks in at just under 25MB and requires an active 22seven account to function (the first month of which is free with the app) but the benefits of having it installed on a mobile device include: seeing which transactions you’re making in which categories, tracking how much is left to spend on groceries, eating out, or other budgeted costs, and being able to compare monthly spending.
The app is currently compatible with iOS 5 or better devices and supports South African banks and some account services. The app’s page lists Nedbank, FNB, ABSA, Standard Bank, RMB, Discovery, Virgin Money, Woolworths, Edgars and kulula.com as being supported. 22seven says that an Android app is also in the works but there is no launch date for it yet.
