First National Bank has launched today their next-generation banking app, which has been optimised for tablets. The app is now available for Apple, Android and Windows 8 devices and is the first local app to permit users to open an account from scratch from within the app itself.
Head of FNB Connect ISP and Business Operations Farren Roper said in a statement ““The new Banking App, designed specifically for tablet devices, was developed with ease-of-use as a key priority and utilises the full capability of the latest tablet devices. It is completely custom-made and not a re-skin of our existing smartphone App.”
“We decided to build a customised App in order to offer consumers a fully immersive App that includes touch screen tablet banking, with features like drag and drop, swiping and double tapping all of which make for a great user experience.”
Some of the other features of the new app from FNB aside from the new accounts functionality include: balance checking (accounts and eBucks), payments (once-off and regular), forex information and financial calculators, and the ability to send airtime, cash and prepaid electricity to other users.
