Panasonic is looking at getting out of the plasma TV business, a move that would form part of a downsizing effort that is set to run over the next three years.
Japan’s Nikkei newspaper has claimed that the company will be reducing output at its Amagasaki plant, slowly decreasing production in order to keep partners happy. The company has reportedly said that dealing with both LCD and plasma displays would be “inefficient”.
Reuters reports a Panasonic spokesman as saying that “We are considering a number of options regarding our TV business. But nothing has been decided yet.”
