Instagram has completely turned off support for images posted to Twitter, something which should already be evident to frequent Instagram to Twitter posters.
It is still possible to tweet links to Instagram images but, as a status update from Twitter explains, images posted via Instagram cannot be viewed. This is because of “Instagram disabling its Twitter cards integration, and as a result, photos are being displayed using a pre-cards experience.”
Instagram have reportedly turned off Twitter integration because the service wants its users to view images on its own site instead of on Twitter. Twitter are reportedly in the process of rolling out a competing photo filter option for their own service as well, a move that may make Instagram superfluous for some Twitter users.
