BlackBerry 10 phones reported to be shipping “within 30 days” of unveiling

The 30 January launch date for RIM’s new BlackBerry 10 operating system and phones, announced earlier this week, is also the marker for when buyers can expect to see the handsets available in stores, according to reports.

RIM’s chief operating officer Kristian Tear, according to Bloomberg, has said that the company wants to get the devices out on the market “as quickly as possible” but the handsets won’t be launching simultaneously around the world. Research in Motion is hoping to launch the new phones on multiple continents within 30 days of the launch event.

This puts the general availability of  BlackBerry 10 phones into an early February to early March 2013 time frame, with the latter coinciding with expectations for when the unrevealed handsets will be in stores. An early-Feb street date would be preferable for RIM, even if it is just confined to certain markets with other following later.
