HP has announced the details behind the company’s collaboration with Universal Music Group, which has resulted in the launch of the HP Connected Music offering which will be available on all Windows 8 desktops and notebooks.
HP’s Connected Music service kicks off today with a private No Doubt concert which will be taking place in Paris today, with the concert being followed by other private events starring Universal Music artists to take place later. HP Connected Music users will be given “…access to exclusive VIP experiences and give them the opportunity to attend events with some of their favourite artists over the next year” according to Hewlett Packard. In addition the service will offer 90 days of free streaming of Universal’s music catalogue, ten free MP3 downloads a day for the same period for those who purchase a Windows 8 HP Spectre or HP Envy PC and a few other services which were not elaborated on.
HP South Africa’s Thibault Dousson said “Working alongside Universal Music, we can pair our innovative Windows 8 hybrid, notebook and desktop consumer PCs with one-of-a-kind music experiences that give our customers access to some of the world’s most popular artists.”
