A project being funded via Indiegogo aims to turn iPhone 4 and 5 models into multitools. The ReadyCase is the product being created and the fundraiser has already smashed the $15,000 target that was set to bring the project to the market.
The ReadyCase consists of a casing for the iPhone (of which there are two types), along with seven different tools or functions. A removable USB stick is integrated into the casing, as is a removable multifunction blade/screwdriver/bottle opener. The USB stick, which comes in either 8GB or 16GB sizes, will also function as a stand for the device. A lens ring has been added to the casing, allowing one of three interchangeable lenses to be added to the iPhone’s camera and there is also a headphone clip on the back of the 3mm thick casing.
The funding may have been completed but the earliest that these iPhone additions will be seen is in February 2013. There are still 16 days to contribute if you feel the urge to put some money down for an early version of the ReadyCase.
