Images of Sony’s RX1 compact full-frame camera may have leaked last week but the company has now made the unit official.
It’s full designation is the Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 and the camera weighs in at just 482 grams, making it deserving of the ‘compact’ label. The tiny camera packs in a 24.3 megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor and a Carl Zeiss Sonnar 35mm F2 prime lens, along with an ISO range of 100 – 25600 and focus/aperture manual controls.
The RX1 is capable of Full HD recording even in low-light conditions, according to Sony .
A range of accessories geared towards this compact camera will be released at the same time as the RX1, including optical and electronic view finder kits, a lens hood and thumb grip.
The RX1 is scheduled for a release in South Africa later this year.
