September is going to be a big month for gadgets as several companies that compete with Apple, including Amazon, Nokia, Microsoft, Google, Motorola and Samsung, have got plans to introduce new products before Cupertino’s 12 September event.
Samsung is first on the list with an event in Berlin later this week where the Korean company is expected to unveil a new Galaxy Note. Reports indicate that a larger display and a change in aspect ratio is on the cards for the new device.
Microsoft and Nokia are next, with a New York event planned for 5 September. The two companies are thought to be revealing a new Lumia phone, possibly with an updated version of the Windows Phone OS.
Motorola also has an event set for 5 September, where the Google-owned company is supposedly introducing the Droid Razr HD, an updated phone with an 8-megapixel camera and a larger battery.
Last is Amazon. Amazon has an event planned for 6 September where it is widely expected to show off new Kindle models. An updated Kindle Fire and possibly smaller version of the tablet are thought to make up part of the company’s announcement.
It remains to be seen how much of Apple’s thunder the other companies are able to steal with this lineup of announcements but it is a good month to be a fan of tech.
