In March this year Yahoo started legal action against Facebook, alleging that the social network was infringing on ten of their patents. A recent court filing by Yahoo has revealed that the company is now in talks with Facebook regarding a settlement to the patent infringement case.
Yahoo has requested a two-week delay in proceedings, saying that “…the parties are currently engaged in settlement negotiations to resolve this dispute.”
The settlement talks are apparently at an advanced stage and will likely conclude with some sort of partnership between the two companies and cross-licensed patents, according to the report from AllThingsD. The report also says that there is unlikely to be any sort of cash payment made as a result of the settlement.
