Following a September launch attempt that didn’t pan out too well for BlackBerry, the company has decided to take its second crack at releasing the BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) app for Android and iOS.
In an official blog post from BlackBerry the company said that “…people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores.”
By the look of things the rollout is being staggered a little and it looks as though South African users won’t be able to access the Android or iOS versions until this weekend, according to the blog post.
The links on the BBM download page are not yet functional for locals, nor is BBM appearing in Google’s Play Store in South Africa, but those with Samsung handsets should be able to get their hands on it immediately. Heading to the Samsung Apps er… app gives users the option to download and install BBM at the moment.
